Personal note: The first following post will catch up. In the months of May and June, there was little time to write blogs.

The manifestation, organized by the organization “Together for the Netherlands” on Sunday, May 7, symbolizes the flag upside down. This time the march will go through the center of The Hague. From 12:00 people gather on the Koekamp near Central Station. The weather is nice and many people are outside. There’re also two markets. It is great that many people can see the march.

The wagon with the speaker’s podium is on the Koekamp. A playful action is the can tower, which anyone can knock over. On each can is a political leader. Let the heads roll. There will be a number of speakers until 1 p.m.

The Other Newspaper
The information booth is full of flyers, stickers and newspapers. There’s a lot of coverage of “The Other Newspaper. It is about the consequences of the corona law. The government wants to push this law through. Many people know nothing about this law. The media isn’t paying attention to it. Sander Compagner, editor of “the Other Newspaper,” personally distributes his newspaper to the public.

Police
The police are in full force. Riot police close streets, police on bicycles stop traffic and flat cap cobs walk along to signal the mood of the crowd. Police on horseback are keeping their distance.

Media
The march begins at 1 p.m. The wagon with DJ and music rides ahead. Main stream media POW news holds interviews. The alternative media is plentifulwell represented.

The route attracts many people. In residential neighborhoods, people look out their windows or balconies. Pedestrians stand still in the shopping streets. Some people are filming, making small talk or recieve “the Other Newspaper.

When the marchers return, some stay to chat. But most go home. Ron Baggerman and Nippy Noya play beautiful jazz songs on stage. It’s a successful manifestation with a turnout of more than 2,000 people and much attention from the public.

Meanwhile, the Dutch government continues to push through laws, while the scandals about corruption, withholding information, framing and shaming, crisis policy to keep the fear in, the smear campaign against farmers, no transparency about the corona law, over mortality and much more, continue unabated.

The critical thinkers will continue manifesting and or creating initiatives for a new society, connecting and more.

Persoonlijke noot: De eerste volgende post zullen een achterstand wegwerken. In de maanden mei en juni was er weinig tijd om blogs te schrijven.

De manifestatie, die de organisatie ‘Samen voor Nederland’ op zondag 7 mei organiseert, symboliseert de vlag op zijn kop. Dit keer gaat de mars door het centrum van Den Haag. Vanaf 12:00 uur verzamelen mensen zich op de Koekamp bij het Centraal Station. Het is mooi weer en veel mensen zijn buiten. Er zijn ook twee markten. Het is geweldig dat veel mensen de mars kunnen zien.

De wagen met het sprekerspodium staat op de Koekamp. Een ludieke actie is de blikken toren, die iedereen omver kan gooien. Op elk blikje staat een politiek leider. Laat de koppen maar rollen. Tot 13.00 uur zijn er een aantal sprekers.

De Andere Krant
De informatiestand ligt vol met flyers, stickers en kranten. Er is veel aandacht voor ‘de Andere Krant’. Het gaat over de gevolgen van de corona-wet. De regering wil deze wet erdoor drukken. Veel mensen weten niets van deze wet. De media besteedt er geen aandacht aan. Sander Compagner, redacteur van ‘de Andere Krant’, begeleidt persoonlijk de verspreiding van de kranten onder het publiek.

Politie
De politie is met man en macht aanwezig. De oproerpolitie sluit straten af, politie op de fiets houdt het verkeer tegen en de platte pet cobs loopt mee om de sfeer van de menigte te signaleren. Politie te paard houdt afstand.

Media
De mars begint om 13:00 uur. De wagen met DJ en muziek rijdt voorop. Main stream media POW news houdt interviews. De alternatieve media is volop aanwezig.

De route trekt inderdaad veel mensen. In de woonwijken kijken mensen uit het raam of balkon. Voetgangers staan stil in de winkelstraten. Sommige mensen filmen, maken een praatje of nemen ‘de Andere Krant’ mee.

Als de manifestanten terugkomen, blijft een aantal nog napraten. Maar de meesten gaan naar huis. Ron Baggerman en Nippy Noya spelen prachtige jazznummers op het podium. Het is een geslaagde manifestatie met een opkomst van meer dan 2000 mensen en veel aandacht van het publiek.

Ondertussen gaat de Nederlandse regering door met het doordrukken van wetten doorvoeren, terwijl de schandalen over corruptie, informatie achterhouden, framing and shaming, crisisbeleid om de angst erin te houden, de hetze tegen boeren, geen transparantie over de coronawet, oversterfte en nog veel meer, onverminderd door.

De kritische denkers gaan door manifesteren en of het opzetten van initiatieven voor een nieuwe samenleving, verbinden en meer.
