Dancer encore
Dancer Encore comes original from France. The first video I saw was shot in Paris in Gare du Nord. An arcordeon starts out of nowhere and more and more musiciens join in with other instruments and vocals. With dance it becomes happy and you also want to dance. As a flashmop goes, the moment dissolves again in the time of every day.

Connection
In this manmade crisis, connecting people is essential. Danser Encore connects and gives people a moment of happiness. Dancer encore is an art performance.  It’s introduced as a flashmop in the city of Nijmegen on April 17, 2021. Then it quickly spreads to other cities in the Netherlands. People play, sing and dance in squares and at monuments for passers-by.

Rotterdam
On May 16 it’s the turn of Rotterdam. The weather is changeable, but it stays dry while playing. This is important for most musical instruments can’t withstand water. The’re two locations in the city center where shoppers are surprised with this cheerful flashmop. The first time ther’s a performance on the Binnenwegplein. Then the group walks to the square near the Hema to play there again.

The musicians start with an intro. Dancers dance freely. Someone hands out a flyer with the text of the song. Dancers come up and start to sing. The audience stops and enjoys. Some grab their cell phones to record it. People sing or dance along spontaneously. It’s the moment of connection. At the end of the performance there’s a  round of applause for everyone.

Afterparty
After the two performances the musiciens and dancers go to the museum square to enjoy a jam session in the park. Just behind a coffee car you can relax in the sun on the grass. Here too, walkers stop and listen to the jazz sounds.

It has been a long time since live music can be seen and heard in the Netherlands. For some this will stay even longer as they refuse to take an experimental injection just to go to an art event. If it starts to rain after an hour, it’s a good time to say goodbye.

Danser encore
Danser encore is overgewaaid vanuit Frankrijk. De eerste video die ik zag was opgenomen in Paris – Gare du Nord. Uit het niets start een arcordeon en steeds meer muziekvreugde wordt toevoegend met andere instrumenten en zang. Als de dans erbij komt wordt je vrolijk en wil je ook dansen. Zoals een flashmop gaat lost het moment zich weer op in de tijd en hectiek van alle dag.

Verbinding
In deze tijden kan die mensen verbinden en in een geluksmoment hoop meegegeven. Geen wonder dat het ook internationaal mensen verbind. Dancer encore wordt op 17 april 2021 in Nederland in de stad Nijmegen geïntroduceerd. Daarna wordt het snel opgepakt en in meerdere steden spelen, zingen en dansen mensen op pleinen en monumenten voor voorbijgangers.
