SIGN ACTION ZUTPHEN

At 1 p.m., participants gather in front of the town hall. This does not succeed for everyone, due to a technical failure of the bridge. This includes Sigrid who is carrying the signs for the action.

Twenty minutes later, all 20 participants are there. On the spot, the signs are distributed. Some participants walk with two signs. I take pictures and Erik makes videos of the sign action. There’s also flyering with information about the WEF (World Economic Forum) and the SDG (sustainable development goals). Goals with fancy packaging until you understand what the content is.

Texts
The signs feature texts related to crisesses in the world, social developments and radical changes imposed by the government to gain more control. The main purpose is to alert the public of these developments and make it discussable.

Examples of texts are;
– media = state propaganda and censorship
– how long is looking away still comfortable
– windmills and solar parks are polluting people and animals
– Is 5G crowd control?
– demonstrating is a fundamental right
– digital identity + end of privacy
– world health organization dictatorship by pandemic treaty
– soon you will not leave your 15 minutes city
– determine your own expenses

During the route, there will be stops at five spots so shoppers can properly read the message on the signs.

From the Town Hall, everyone walks in a long line behind the music box with the sign up towards the big square. At the corner near a café is the first stop.

The agreement is not to start a discussion, but shoppers can always ask questions. Especially with handing out leaflets, questions are asked.

Comments
Sometimes people passe by fast or a middle finger is raised. It happens, but more often people show their apriciation when they applaud or raise a thumb of approval. One woman is so enthusiastic that she briefly borrows a sign to hold it up herself.

After five minutes, the walk continues through the marketplace. There’s a lot of sightseeing. At the end of the market, just around the corner is the next stop.

Tourist
The historic city of Zutphen is not far from the German border. I strike up a conversation with a German teacher. He tells me that he has had corona. But he thinks the measures against corona in Germany were too severe. Teaching through a screen is nothing.

Germany
Two weeks ago a scandal came out. Two journalist discovered that the German government had already taken the far-reaching freedom-restricting measures, without scientific evidence. This hit the media in Germany, but here in the Netherlands you don’t read or hear about it. There’re too many lies worldwide to keep people in fear and in control.

After five minutes we walk on, through a small park that leads to a large parking lot of a shopping mall. There, shoppers are treated to the sign action. A line remains on either side of the entrance and across the street. Again, short conversations ensue.

After stopping in the parking lot, the route returns to town. Near a tree, a man plays his arcordeon. For a few minutes he has company from the group with signs. People on the terraces look at the signs. Those who want are given a leaflet.

The last stop is on the square near the Wine House Tower. The terraces are full. From the stairs an overview photo of the signs in a row. At 3 p.m. the action for today is over.

The participants settle down on a terrace of a favorite grand cafe. What a fantastic conclusion to this sign act.
