Connection for freedom
The organisation ‘verbind voor vrijheid’ organizes every month a manifestation in Hellevoetsluis to connect people in freedom. On April 4 again and the location has been carefully chosen, a large field near the Haringvlietdam. Everyone is welcome.

Personal title
The mayor of Hellevoetsluis doesn’t support this idea. A maximum of 200 persons is allows at the manifestation. Many people want to unite without the police violence that takes place in the big cities. There is great enthusiasm to go to Hellevoetsluis on Easter Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm. The organization then decided to withdraw. Everyone comes in their own title.

Beach closed
The mayor ordered the beach near the Haringvlietdam be closed off by the police. The demonstrators then go to the Fortress in Hellevoetsluis. The police, ME (riot police) and Romeo’s follow in buses. A large police boat and a smaller boat also sail towards the Fortress and close the harbor.

Easter eggs
The view is picturesque with the mill and harbor. The weather is chilly, but dry and not so much wind. People gather at the Waag on the quay. The group quickly grows to about 500 people. Everyone is happy to see each other. Easter eggs are handed out, Wijnand and Dennis sing their songs, elsewhere music is played from a box.

The police drive by and vans are parked in the back of the street. The original plan at the Haringvlietdam is canceled. Injustice has been done by violating the fundamental right to demonstrate. Hostage
At the port, the group is enclosed on both sides by the ME without any warning. Some parents with children are allowed to walk through. Others try to get away through the bushes or the harbor. Soon there are two policemen standing in the bushes. At the end of the escape route, ME forcefully arrests a man.

Due to the turmoil residents come out of their homes to see what’s going on. They see with their own eyes how the police detain peaceful people. The ME takes 150 people hostage for an hour. There is no emergency ordinance and the police have no answer what’s about to happen. Police wait for instructions from the mayor. In the meantime you are not allowed to go anywhere, not even to pee.

Make the best of it
There are children who are afraid and reassured. The live streams are on to transmit this absurd situation in real time. People sit on a low gate, stand still or make a party. Another Easter egg or a cup of coffee? Music by ‘Doe Maar’ and Bob Marley can be heard from the speakers.

Solution
Martin Forster inquires on what basis people are deprived of their freedom. He writes down the service numbers of the ME and is removed from the group by the police commander. Janneke took the liberty of calling lawyer Bart Meas, who deals with criminal cases. He’s calls the police. Two-way action towards the mayor.

It was later learned that the Romeos used excessive force. They have violently dragged a father and a grandmother into the bus. In this brutal act two young children were left standing in shock without guidance. Many times Romeos commit criminal offenses to scare people off with terror.

It’s almost five o’clock when people can get to their cars. We will not soon forget this Easter Day in Hellevoetsluis due to the unnecessary deployment of a police army and violence from Romeos.

Peace loving people
Drinking coffee for two hours on the Museumplein in Amsterdam went in peace and harmony. There has been no intervention of the police. We can do perfectly without the police.
This adds to the many times that we are peace.

Verbind voor vrijheid
De organisatie ‘Verbind voor vrijheid’ organiseert elke maand een manifestatie in Hellevoetsluis om mensen in vrijheid te verbinden. Op 4 april weer en de locatie is zorgvuldig uitgekozen, een groot veld bij de Haringvlietdam. Iedereen is welkom.

Strand afgesloten
De burgemeester heeft opdracht gegeven om het strand bij de Haringvlietdam door de politie af te sluiten. De demonstranten gaan vervolgens naar de vesting in Hellevoetsluis. De politie, ME (oproerpolitie) en Romeo’s volgen in bussen. Een grote politieboot en een kleinere boot varen ook richting het fort en sluiten de haven.

Paaseieren
Het uitzicht in het centrum van Hellevoetsluis is schilderachtig met de molen en de haven. Het weer is fris, maar droog en niet zo veel wind. Mensen verzamelen zich bij de Waag op de kade. De groep groeit al snel tot ongeveer 500 mensen. Iedereen is blij elkaar te zien. Paaseitjes worden uitgedeeld, Wijnand en Dennis zingen hun liedjes, elders klinkt muziek uit een speaker.

De politie rijdt voorbij. Politiebusjes staan ​​achter aan de straat geparkeerd. Door het tereein bij de Haringvlietdam af te sluiten is eronrecht gedaan aan het grondrecht om te demonstreren. Oplossing

Martin informeert via de megafoon het voorstel om de groep onder begeleiding van de politie terug te laten lopen naar het fort. De groep aan de overkant van de haven loopt ook terug. Iedereen is blij om weer in beweging te komen.

Afsluitende toespraak
Op de grote kade in het centrum is er een slotwoord van 15 minuten. Martin zegt dat iedereen een WOP verzoek kan indienen over wat hier vandaag is gebeurd en op welke gronden de mensen onrechtmatig gegijzeld. Janneke bedankt advocaat Bart Meas voor zijn inzet.

Later is in verslagenheid vernomen dat een vader, een oma en twee kleine kinderen slachtoffer zijn geworden van terreur aanslag van de Romeo’s. Ze hebben de vader en oma met geweld in de bus gesleept. De twee jonge kinderen zijn alleen in shock achtergelaten. Romeo’s plegen vaak strafbare feiten om mensen met terreur af te schrikken.

Het is bijna vijf uur als mensen bij hun auto kunnen komen. Deze paasdag in Hellevoetsluis zullen we niet snel vergeten door de onnodige inzet van een politieleger en terreur van de Romeos.

Amsterdam
Het koffiemoment op het Museumplein in Amsterdam is voorspoedig zonder tussenkomst van de politie verlopen. Dit maakt duidelijk dat de kritisch mensen prima in vrede en liefde kunnen samenkomen zonder bemoeienis van politie.
