Walk of Freedom
Sunday May 2 is mostly sunny. It’s a busy day in Amsterdam. Two major events are planned.
1. The march of Action group ‘Nederland in Verzet’ organized by Michel Reijinga starts at 12 noon from Central Station.
2. For the celebration the national championship of the Amsterdam football club Ajax, many football fans come to the capital.

Police
For these events, extra police are present in the city. There are many police buses and motorcycle police at Central Station. The Mobile Unit (ME) and agents accompany the freedom march. Agents are recognized who were also present at the Freedom March in Rotterdam.

Lady Hemp
A cop recognizes me as Lady Hemp. I walk with the camera in my right hand and the hemp board in my left. Along the way, people raise their thumbs when they read the message; ‘Hemp can save the world’.

Others shout ‘yes, weed!’ I love to explain how this powerful plant can save our world. Hemp grows almost everywhere and almost anything can be made from hemp. This makes it possible to establish small, independent local societies with hemp. Societies that work together. Of course we have to grow hemp in permaculture way.

Amsterdam hike
The march connects people and highlight attention to urgent situation of the totalitarian goverment. Starting point is Central Station and goes along Dam, Rembrandtplein, Frederiksplein, Weteringschans, Leidseplein, Singel, again Rembrandtplein, Amstelstraat, Waterlooplein, Nieuwmarkt, again Central Station and the end point is Dam.

Attendees
The participants are diverse, colorful and huge. And more people are joining along the way. The old media write a thousand participants. There were at least three thousand participants.

Grandma of 85 years old walks between them, Petra sits on her scootmobile dressed as the frog and Katja Katja live streams from a bicycle. The participants call on the pedestrians to ‘join us’. People wearing face masks are reminded that breathing freely in the outdoors is better.

Flags and music
Many people wear a Dutch flag around them or wave the flag on a stick. Text signs rise above the crowd. In the front people walk with the banner saying ‘I fight for freedom’ #klaarmetRutte. The slogan ‘Love, freedom and democracy’ or ‘join us’ can be heard through megaphones. There are walkers with hand drums. The large music loudspeakers are pulled in a cart. On the way, hikers can dance to the music.

Yellow umbrellas
From a distance, the walkers as a group ‘Walk for Freedom’ are clearly recognizable by the yellow umbrellas. The yellow color is reflected in the sunlight. When the group walks in the streets, the residents see the yellow sea of ​​umbrellas from their windows. Each umbrella has texts and illustrations. Love, hearts and pictos of a hug are most popular with the umbrellas. This is exactly the energy that most participants radiate.

Respect
Everyone on The Walk of Freedom has their own reason and vision for participating. The great common values ​​are freedom, fundamental rights back, forced healthmeasures and lies of the government.

Connection
The march connects people. Amsterdam can see and experience this. Where the old media frames, people on the street can see with their own eyes that the participants walk peacefully next to a cop.
Many thanks to the police who facilitated well.

The march ends on the Dam Square. People continue to talk, dance and then say goodbye for after while.

Next week
May 4 is the commemoration of the dead in the Netherlands for all victims who died during wartime and in peacekeeping missions.
May 5 is Liberation Day. Normally there are festivals in big cities, but they are not allowed to take place. Of course people go out to draw attention to freedom in our country and in the world.

Walk of Freedom
Zondag 2 mei is het vooral zonnig. Op deze dag vinden twee grote evenementen in Amsterdam plaats.
1. De mars van Actiegroep ‘Nederland in Verzet’, georganiseerd door Michel Reijingabegint start om 12.00 uur vanaf het Centraal Station.
2. Om het landskampioenschap van de Amsterdamse voetbalclub Ajax te vieren komen veel voetbalsupporters naar de hoofdstad.

Politie
Voor deze evenementen is er extra politie in de stad aanwezig. Er zijn veel politiebussen en motorpolitie op het Centraal Station. De Mobiele Eenheid (ME) en agenten begeleiden de vrijheidsmars. Agenten worden herkend, die ook bij de Vrijheidsmars in Rotterdam waren.

Lady Hemp
Een agent herkent mij als Lady Hemp. Ik loop met de camera in de rechterhand en het hennepbord in de linkerhand. Langs de weg steken mensen hun duim op als ze het bericht lezen;
‘Hennep kan de wereld redden’.

Anderen roepen luid ‘ja, wiet!’. Met liefde leg ik uit hoe deze krachtige plant onze wereld kan redden. Hennep groeit bijna overal en bijna alles kan van hennep worden gemaakt. Zo is het mogelijk om met hennep kleine, onafhankelijke lokale samenlevingen op te richten. Samenlevingen die samenwerken. Natuurlijk moeten we hennep wel verbouwen op de manier als permacultuur.

Mars door Amsterdam
De mars verbind mensen en belicht de standpunten rondom het wanbeleid va overheden wereldwijd. Het startpunt is Centraal Station en route gaat langs de Dam, het Rembrandtplein, Frederiksplein, de Weteringschans, Leidseplein, de Singel, wederom het Rembrandtplein, de Amstelstraat, het Waterlooplein, de Nieuwmarkt, wederom Centraal Station en het eindpunt is de Dam.

Deelnemers
De deelnemers zijn divers, kleurrijk en de groep is groot. En onderweg komen er meer mensen bij. De oude media schrijven duizend deelnemers, het zijn er minstens drieduizend.

Oma van 85 jaar loopt tussen hen, Petra zit als de kikker op haar scootmobiel en Katja Katja live streamt vanaf een fiets. De deelnemers roepen de voetgangers op om aan te sluiten. Mensen die gezichtsmaskers dragen, worden eraan herinnerd dat vrij ademen in de buitenlucht gezonder is.

Vlaggen en muziek
Veel mensen dragen de Nederlandse vlag om zich heen of zwaaien met een vlag op een stok. Tekstborden stijgen boven de menigte uit. Vooraan lopen mensen met het spandoek met de tekst ‘ik strijd voor vrijheid’ #klaarmetRutte. De slogan ‘Liefde, vrijheid en democratie’ of ‘sluit je aan’ is te horen via megafoons. Er zijn wandelaars met handtrommels. Grote muziekluidsprekers worden in een karretje mee getrokken. Onderweg kunnen wandelaars dansen op de muziek.

Gele paraplu’s
Van een afstand zijn de wandelaars als groep ‘Walk for Freedom’ duidelijk herkenbaar aan de gele paraplu’s. De gele kleur reflecteert in het zonlicht. In de straten kunnen Amsterdammers vanuit hun raam de gele zee van parasols zien. Elke paraplu heeft teksten en illustraties. Liefde, harten en picto’s van een knuffel, staan het meest op de paraplu’s. Dit is precies de energie die de meeste deelnemers uitstralen.

Respect
Iedereen aan de ‘The Walk of Freedom’ heeft zijn eigen reden en visie om mee te doen. De grote gemeenschappelijke waarden zijn vrijheid, grondrechten terug, dwangbeleid van gezondheid en de vele leugens van de regering.

Verbinding
De mars verbind mensen en Amsterdam kan dit zien en beleven. Waar de oude media framed in de krant of TV, kunnen mensen op straat met eigen ogen zien dat de deelnemers vredelievend naast een agent loopt.
Veel dank aan de politie die goed heeft gefaciliteerd. De mars eindigt op de Dam. Daar blijven mensen nog een tijdje praten en dansen.

Volgende week
4 mei is de dodenherdenking in Nederland voor alle slachtoffers die zijn omgekomen tijdens oorlogstijd en in vredesmissies.
5 mei is Bevrijdingsdag. Normaal gesproken zijn er festivals in grote steden, maar die mogen niet plaatsvinden. Uiteraard gaan mensen naar buiten om aandacht te vragen voor vrijheid in ons land en in de wereld.
