On Saturday 29 May, there’s a manifestation in Brussels and Rotterdam. Brussels is international. Demonstrators from Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany are expected. Violence in Belgium against manifestators is intense. Reason for some folks to stay in their own country and walk along in Rotterdam.

Bridges
The march crosses the city’s biggest bridges, connecting the south to the north. In addition to freedom and love, connection is an important theme. The weather is ideal for walking. It’s dry, sunny and not too hot. The start is at the Euromastpark on the Westerkade. The police on bicycle are ready to facilitate the march.

Euromast park
The first part of the march goes through the park along the Euromast towards the University Hospital Dijkzicht. Friends and families recreate in the park. The long march with more than 600 demonstrators attracts all the attention. Some recreators wear masks and want distance, others wave and take pictures.

Watercity
After the park, the march continues the Westzeedijk to the Erasmusbridge where the police regulate traffic. The banners are turned towards the audience. Motorists honk. The waterwind of the Maas at Boompjeskade is refreshing. The view of the inland vessels and the quay gives the atmosphere of Rotterdam as a port city.

Island
When the weather is nice, the view from the Willemsbrug over the skyline of Rotterdam is far away. From the White House to the Euromast at the Nordth side. At the South side you see the Noordereiland, wich is located in the river the Nieuwe Maas. The old lift bridge, where the train used to run, has a part up. The walk continues under this bridge.

Reaction
People on the terrace react differently. Children like to walk along. Residents stand in the window or in front of their door to make a chat. That’s connection.

Head of the South
From the Noordereiland, everyone crosses the Koninginnebrug to the Stieltjesstraat. Normaly there’re exhibitions in Villa Zebra for the youth. It has been closed for a long time. The old Poortgebouw is partially under scaffolding. This building is inhabited.

the Swan
The nickname for the Erusmus Bridge is the swan. Traffic here is again regulated by the police. Manifestors can hand out flyers. In the middle of the bridge the view over the city is wide. Walking down, everyone pauses for a photo with an overview of the bridge.

At the Willemsplein all participants go down the stairs, along the Spido to the Veerkade. The Veerhaven with beautiful yachts and a white boathouse is located next to the Wereldmuseum. The guests on the terraces are surprised and like to sing along to the music that comes from the speakers of the participants.

Ukes for freedom
The ukes for freedom play their ukulele as troubadours of the march. This time more ukelele players join in. Wijnand is playing in the cargo bike and sings many of his songs, which are becoming more and more known. Songs like ‘Mr. President’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘Police is your best friend’ are sung along by many. That’s also connection.

Finish
On the left is the view of the river the Nieuwe Maas and on the right the stately buildings of the Westerkade. The Euromast comes into view again. The end point in the Euromast park is reached after a march of two hours. There is music and enough grass to sit comfortably. After almost a year of demonstrations, many people know each other. Good to have an afterchat chat and perhaps make an appointment for a next meeting.

Freedom and fundamental rights
Ther’re many manifestations. That’s sorely needed. More people should stand up for their fundamental rights. People aren’t afraid of the health lie, but keep their mouths shut for fear of social rejection or problems with the employer. Social control is enormous. Only the people can stop the dictatorship of The Hague. The longer it takes, the more damage is done in all areas.

Op zaterdag 29 mei is er een manifestatie in Brussel en Rotterdam. Brussel is internationaal. Er worden demonstranten uit België, Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland verwacht. Het geweld in België tegen manifestanten is intens. Reden voor sommige mensen om in eigen land te blijven en mee te wandelen in Rotterdam.

Bruggen
De mars gaat over de grootste bruggen van de stad en verbindt het zuiden met het noorden. Naast vrijheid en liefde is verbinding een belangrijk thema. Het weer is ideaal om te wandelen. Het is droog, zonnig en niet te warm. De start is bij het Euromastpark aan de Westerkade. De politie op de fiets staat klaar om de mars te faciliteren.

Euromastpark
Het eerste stuk gaat door het park langs de Euromast richting het Academisch Ziekenhuis Dijkzicht. Vrienden en families recreëren in het park. De lange mars met meer dan 600 demonstranten trekt alle aandacht. Sommige recreanten dragen maskers en willen afstand, anderen zwaaien en maken foto’s.

Waterstad
Na het park gaat de mars verder naar de Westzeedijk tot aan de Erasmusbrug waar de politie het verkeer regelt. De spandoeken zijn naar het publiek gedraaid. Automobilisten toeteren. De waterwind van de Maas aan de Boompjeskade is verfrissend. Het uitzicht op de binnenvaartschepen en de kade geeft de sfeer van Rotterdam als havenstad.

Eiland
Bij mooi weer is het uitzicht vanaf de Willemsbrug over de skyline van Rotterdam ver weg. Van het Witte Huis tot de Euromast aan de noordkant. Aan de zuidkant zie je het Noordereiland, die in de Nieuwe Maas ligt. De oude hefbrug, waar vroeger de trein reed, heeft een deel omhoog. De wandeling gaat onder deze brug door.

Reactie
Mensen op het terras reageren verschillend. Kinderen vinden het leuk om mee te lopen. Bewoners staan ​​voor het raam of voor hun deur om een ​​praatje te maken. Dat is verbinding.

Kop van Zuid
Vanaf het Noordereiland gaat iedereen de Koninginnebrug over naar de Stieltjesstraat. Normaal zijn er tentoonstellingen in Villa Zebra voor de jeugd. Het is al lang gesloten. Het oude Poortgebouw staat gedeeltelijk in de steigers. Dit gebouw wordt bewoond.

de Zwaan
De bijnaam voor de Erusmusbrug is de zwaan. Het verkeer wordt hier weer gereguleerd door de politie. Vanaf het trottoir kunnen manifestanten flyers uitdelen. In het midden van de brug is het uitzicht over de stad weids. Lopend naar beneden, pauzeert iedereen voor een foto met een overzicht van de brug.

Op het Willemsplein gaan alle deelnemers de trap af, langs de Spido naar de Veerkade. Naast het Wereldmuseum ligt de Veerhaven met prachtige jachten en een wit boothuis. De gasten op de terrassen zijn verrast en zingen graag mee met de muziek die uit de speakers van de deelnemers komt.

Ukes for Freedom
De ‘ukes for freedom’ spelen hun ukelele als troubadours van de mars. Dit keer doen meer ukelelespelers mee. Wijnand speelt in de bakfiets en zingt veel van zijn liedjes, die steeds bekender worden. Nummers als ‘Mr. President’, ‘Freedom’ en ‘Police is your best friend’ worden door velen meegezongen. Dat is ook verbinding.

Finish
Aan de linkerkant is de Nieuwe Maas en rechts staan de statige panden van de Westerkade. De Euromast komt weer in beeld. Het eindpunt in het Euromastpark wordt bereikt na een mars van twee uur. Er is muziek en genoeg gras om lekker te zitten. Na bijna een jaar van demonstraties kennen veel mensen elkaar. Goed om even na te praten en misschien een afspraak te maken voor een volgende meeting.

Vrijheid en grondrechten
Er zijn veel manifesties. Dat is hard nodig. Meer mensen moeten opkomen voor hun grondrechten. Men is niet bang voor de gezondheidsleugen, maar houden de mond uit angst voor sociale afwijzing of problemen met de werkgever. De sociale controle is enorm. Alleen het volk kan de dictatuur van Den Haag stoppen. Hoe langer het duurt, hoe meer schade er wordt aangericht op alle gebieden.
